Our story began in a hallway on August 16, 1946 as 7 people began to gather for church services. The Church started as Raines Chapel.
The crowd soon outgrew the hallway, and the adjoining room and the Church moved to the old Union Hall building. In 1959 the lot at 618 First Street was purchased and the name was changed to "New Albany Church of God".
The Church remained on 1st street until 2006 when Pastor James (Jim) Wells led the congregation to purchase a new plot of land and build a new building off of South Central Avenue in New Albany. The Church adopted a new name after 2011, growing from New Albany Church of God to Grace Pointe Church of God.
The Church grew and has continued to grow throughout our 80 years. Grace Pointe Church of God is a success story, a testimony of God's faithfulness and the faithfulness of God's people building His Church.
